Upon my return to Indiana I was met with a great challenge - the flu. The second somewhat debilitating illness of the year and it's only March. This is not normal for me. I'm chalking it up to stress. After three days in bed and several rounds of Tamiflu, I'm finally feeling like I'm on the mend. To celebrate, Miss Monster and I took a very long and well-deserved walk around the farm. She has been the most doting companion for the last few days. If you've ever met a young GSD, you know that sitting quietly is not in their nature. It's most definitely not in hers, usually. Yet, when I needed it this week, she spent three days curled quietly beside me. Yes, she earned the best walk ever. It was a beautiful evening for it, too. Indiana spring was hiding around every corner. I've been in this state too long to be fooled into thinking the cold is behind us, but it was a nice reminder that there is some beautiful weather yet to be enjoyed while I'm here. Three weeks and counting.
